I have to admit it, I was a little intimidated by the thought of doing a garage floor treatment myself. I researched the project online and I thought I could handle it. The product that I was using was top of the line. It was a 5 step process that would make my garage floor almost impervious to anything. Step one I had to shop vac the floor really good. I wiped the floor down with water and then began step two. Step 2 is what made me kind of nervous. It involved using muriatic acid to acid-etch the floor, however after I read the instructions and watched the short video I was somewhat confident. The whole process was very simple and only took about fifteen minutes to apply, two hours to cure and then clean up. After I acid-etched the floor I cleaned it thoroughly and then applied the primer sealer (process three). Process four involved cleaning the primered floor with denatured alcohol. Process five is the fun part. I mix this two part epoxy together along with a little denatured alcohol and I squeegee this viscous material over the floor. I then use a 30 inch roller, high nap paint brush to evenly roll on the material. I used four coats of the epoxy, and let me tell you it looks great. If your garage is looking a little rough, look into treating it, its fun and looks great.

I just purchased my first home and it feels pretty good not to be renting anymore. The house is brand new so I wont have to deal with any problems from previous owners, and really the only thing I want to do to my house, as far as protection is concerned, is put a garage floor mat in my garage. Over Xmas time, my brothers and I all chipped in and got my dad a new garage containment floor mat for his garage. Half the garage floor treatment is done. It looks great and was an easy application that my husband and I did ourselves. We waited for the weather to cool off before starting this project. It took a couple days to do half the garage floor treatment. It began with a good cleaning of the floor surface. My husband laid down the paint and I followed with the sprinkles. We had to make sure to ventilate the garage area well. The fumes from the garage floor treatment can get pretty heavy without movement in the air.

Now that the one half of the floor is dry it is time to apply the garage floor treatment to the other side. Today, in fact in just a few moments, I will join my husband outside and get the final leg of this project underway. I can hear him now running the hose and beginning the floor cleaning process. My dad has a really big truck that he loves to drive, as well as two truly awesome motorbikes. That being said, he can really do some damage to the garage floors, and seeing as he and my mother just moved into a brand new house in Tempe, Arizona, my mom told me that one of her gifts to him (and their house) is going to be a garage containment floor mat. I totally agree with my mother’s reasoning here, because I had to get a nice garage containment floor mat for my house in Tempe because it kept getting stained from oil and tire marks—which really takes away from the way that your garage can look, and I like my entire house to be squeaky clean. Earlier today I spent time cleaning my garage/woodworking shop and among my cleaning tasks was sweeping and vacuuming the garage floor mat I have set in front of each machine. As you can imagine each garage floor mat is like a magnet for collecting all the dust and wood chips I generate when I am building something. this cleaning got me to thinking about how nice it would be to try a new type of garage floor treatment to ease this time consuming task. When I pup my woodworking shop together I installed a dust collection system that is connected to each piece of equipment and I also installed an industrial ceiling mounted dust collector for the very fine dust but even with these running I always end up with a small amount of dust and wood chips on the floor. A few days ago we had a powerful winter storm go through the region and the winds gusted as high as 74 miles per hour in the middle of the night. I was so glad that I had put down some garage floor treatment on my patio earlier this fall because I had a bottle of fabric softener whose cap wasn't on tightly. You guessed it! It blew over and my first clue was that odor that was pretty pervasive. They say cats smell a lot better than humans, and his avoidance of that area was my first clue something was up.

It had been years since my grandparent’s house had water collecting on garage floor and we finally got them to make a change for the better. Have you ever had one of those people that you knew in your life that were totally obsessed with racecars and everything that that has to do with them? That is my dad! My new neighbor is a single man, and he drives a little red sports car. I haven't met him; but, I was driving by his home, and the garage door was open. Me and My Harley Enjoy Our Garage Floor Mats

Every Harley marks its spot and since I am a rider and have my own home and garage, I bought two garage floor mats, one for the living room and one for the garage. I pull in after a nice weekend ride and it's good not to have oil on the garage floor. Now it's all on the mats. This is helping out also because at times I get bored and want my scooter in the house so the motorcycle mat works great for confining oil stains to the mat, not the carpet. Sometimes I also like to work on my motorcycle in the house, too. The lighting is much better in the kitchen, it's a whole lot warmer in the winter and cooler than the summer, and I can just spread my tools on the counters and go from there. I'm not a great mechanic, but I can do a few maintenance jobs myself like change the oil and replace light bulbs.

A friend of mine has a nice big garage, but hates the floor in it. It is all stained up from oil and dirt. Now that the fall weather is here to stay, we're undertaking a big project for our patio. It's unpainted concrete right now and we want to put peel and stick tile down so that it will look nice. We found some tile that will withstand outdoor elements and it's easy to put down, so we ordered enough for our 10' x 16' patio area. The picture shows the G-Force RaceDay Peel & Stick Floor Tile. This is the black and white version, but we ordered a slate grey in 12" x 12" pieces. The tiles shown here are 16" square, but we didn't want to do any cutting, so we chose the 12" size.
