Me and My Harley Enjoy Our Garage Floor Mats |

Every Harley marks its spot and since I am a rider and have my own home and garage, I bought two garage floor mats, one for the living room and one for the garage. I pull in after a nice weekend ride and it's good not to have oil on the garage floor. Now it's all on the mats. This is helping out also because at times I get bored and want my scooter in the house so the motorcycle mat works great for confining oil stains to the mat, not the carpet. Sometimes I also like to work on my motorcycle in the house, too. The lighting is much better in the kitchen, it's a whole lot warmer in the winter and cooler than the summer, and I can just spread my tools on the counters and go from there. I'm not a great mechanic, but I can do a few maintenance jobs myself like change the oil and replace light bulbs.
This garage floor containment mat is 10' x 5' and it was bigger than I needed for the house, so I simply trimmed it using a sharp knife. My Harley isn't a big one so when I found a website that sells lots garage floor protection items, I was so relieved. Prior to getting the garage floor mat, I'd used cardboard but that eventually will bleed through to the floor. I bought these mats from Better Life Technology, LLC whose website address is http://www.bltllc.com. I knew that these garage floor mats were the perfect solution for both the house and the garage.
The garage floor mats are thick enough so I don't have to worry about the kick stand making dents in the living room or kitchen flooring, either. The mats aren't that heavy, so when the oil drips mount up, I simply take them outside with grease cleaners and hose them off, let them dry, and bring them back inside. The garage floor mats are also soft enough so that the tires don't develop flat spots, either. I ride my Harley pretty much on weekends, so they do spend a lot of time in one spot. Rather than having to move the bike a couple of times a week, now I simply let the mat do its magic.
Will I always ride my Harley? Probably. I love seeing the mountain wilderness near my home as directly as I can and I love the wind blowing by, and also like the 50 MPG I get, too. Riding a bike makes me feel like a kid again, and that is an ageless feeling, so armed with garage floor mats, my Harley and I live together quite happily. |
