A few days ago we had a powerful winter storm go through the region and the winds gusted as high as 74 miles per hour in the middle of the night. I was so glad that I had put down some garage floor treatment on my patio earlier this fall because I had a bottle of fabric softener whose cap wasn't on tightly. You guessed it! It blew over and my first clue was that odor that was pretty pervasive. I wondered why the cat was avoiding that part of the patio until I went outside and set foot on the patio since his water bowl was in the same area as my big fabric softener spill. They say cats smell a lot better than humans, and his avoidance of that area was my first clue something was up.
All I can say is thank goodness I had garage floor protection down because it was easy to hose off the patio and get that smell washed down the street. It was easy to clean up, but if it hadn't been for the garage floor protection, I bet the stain and the scent would still be there. What a good decision it was to treat the patio concrete floor with garage floor treatment products.
