garage containment floor mat, garage floor treatmentsThe water in my neighborhood is so hard that it actually corrodes concrete, so I'm thinking about using some garage floor treatments to preserve the integrity of my concrete on the patio where my evaporative cooler is. It leaks a little and the concrete below it is becoming pitted. I thought about using a garage containment floor mat, but sometimes it leaks more than a containment mat can handle, and those mats can get heavy when you try to move them. So it seems to me that garage floor protection vis a vis paint or sealer would be the best way to go. It's hard to believe that water can be so corrosive to concrete, but it is. Most of the time people think about concrete stains coming from gas or oil leaks, but hard water can actually leach things out of concrete to create a pitted surface. Paint is probably the best way to go. It can be colorful, and I might have a lot of fun painting it, and doing some kind of design on it.
